Hello and Happy Easter! What a wonderful; season
of the year we are in where we can remember and celebrate Jesus and His amazing saving act for us! We hope and pray that we all as a church over this time continue to fall in love with Him more and
praise Him for His faithfulness!
This month is an exciting one, full of many different
events occurring!
The ZONE
Age14 -18 Thursday and Sunday nights @church 7.30-9pm
In the zone we have many different sections and activities occurring. On Thursday we have the
‘Discipleship Zone’ where we study the Word together, worship and encourage one another in our faith! In this time too, we have a ‘World Zone’ where the young people take it in time to lead us in prayer for
different places around our world.
During this term we have study Genesis, which has been a great Joy! It has been brilliant spending time
together asking questions and talking about the faithfulness of God, and discovering the beginning of the bible together. As it is Easter now, this week we will have a pass over meal together as an
experience what Jesus shared with his followers the night before He was Crucified and raised. This will be a powerful time for us to come before God and explore some of the emotions felt In light of what
was about to commence.
On Sundays we have a ‘Chill Zone’ where we develop our relationships, play games and generally chill
out! Also on Sunday, once a month, we have ‘Guys and Gals Zone’, where we split into our own gender to talk more in depth on different arising issues.
Latelatebreakfast!
This is a service that the young people take over and lead every second Sunday of the second month.
We have a band, which young people play and sing in and have a talk, which hopefully is more aimed to young people and their lives!
This was a great time together on our last service and we praise God for it! We are looking forward to
the next one that will be on Easter Sunday 8th April at 6pm. In this service too we will also have more creative ways of Payer and longer time s of worship! To conclude the service we have breakfast food
after which we ask for a £2.50 donation toward, this week we are having egg and Sausage sandwiches! Yum!
Rock Solid
Age 10-14 Alternate Wednesday, 7m-8.30pm
Rock solid is running well which is all to the thanks God! We have very loud messy sessions, which
seems to delight our young people! It is an action packed night full of games and creativity. The whole evening is focused to a theme that all the games reinforce. During the sessions too, we have a time
where we share about our Saviour and His love for them, which also links in with the theme. We have a great team who work on this with us and without them Rock Solid would not function! We really want
to say a MASSIVE thanks to all who do help; we value your input more than words can say!
We are really excited about this, as it is a great evangelical tool we can use for His purposes; it is a
privilege to run it!
Schools Work
This coming week we are about to help in a mission week at St.Teilos which we have help developed
based on the 24hours lead up to Jesus crucifixion, so we would appreciate your prayers for this. It is a great time to continue to develop our relationship with this school as we have been working with them
now for a while.
SHINE is developing well. It is a self-esteem Course that aims to build, and further develop worth,
purpose, self-esteem and awareness into young people. Each course is run in gender specific groups, and is a 4-8 week course. We have been developing this course in St.Teilos and we current have
interest from Cardiff High. This is a great development as we have been praying for a while to create a working relationship with this school. We have currently already helped in this school with the CU and a
drama production, which Glenwood took into the school. As a result of this we were asked to lead some self esteem lesson, which will commence in May. This is very exciting as it is a real answer to prayer!
After Easter too we are hoping to further our work in Rhydypenau Primary School, so please pray for us in this development too.
Ignite Hope
From the 4th-7th May Ignite Hope will be taking over Cardiff. It is a soul action event where young
people unite and try to share God’s wonderful love to our city. Our young people are involved in this and we are confirming currently with the Ignite team our rolls, if your young person has not signed up
for this and would like to, it is not to late, please speak to either Josh or Alanna Parmar.
Junior Church
The last Sunday of every month we have a time of worship all together in junior church. This is
progressing well. It is 10 to 15 minuets long and a time where the children and Young people can worship freely with instruments and dancing! It is also great time for us to be Church with the younger
members of our congregation, encouraging and empowering them to finds Jesus in their own way! Our vision in addition to this is to encourage more regular attendance and growth throughout junior church.
